This is my take on the Hungarian dish chicken paprikash. It's usually served on noodles or white rice, but I served mine on mashed cauliflower, very delicious! This recipe was inspired by Lori's recipe found
here.
Ingredients
- 3 chicken breasts
- 1 large onion chopped
- 1 clove garlic (or garlic powder)
- Paprika (sweet or Hungarian)
- 1 tbsp. tomato paste
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp. heavy cream
- Salt and pepper
- Chili powder (optional)
Directions
- Thinly slice chicken breasts and briefly sauté them in olive oil on high just until pink color goes away (don't cook all the way) transfer to bowl
- In same pan, add onion and garlic and sauté until translucent
- Add paprika, salt, pepper, sour cream, tomato paste, stir
- Then add the chicken back to the pot, stir
- Add heavy cream and pinch of chili powder, if you like it spicy and simmer on low at least 10 minutes
